I've been trying to lose weight for the past 15 years. Throughout high school, I was very slender. Then, in my sophomore year of college, for a variety of reasons, I started gaining weight. I developed bad habits and stopped taking care of myself.
Like most people who are trying to lose weight, I've tried just about everything. Jenny Craig, South Beach, Weight Watchers, Overeaters Anonymous, non-dieting, joining gyms, Richard Simmons' Deal A Meal, Optifast liquid diet, diet pills, and the list goes on. I've probably spent over $10,000 on equipment, books, supplements, and other gimmicks designed to get rid of those 125 pounds that are ruining my health, my self-esteem and my future.
Nothing's worked. Oh, I'd find something that would work for a little while, maybe a month. But inevitably, I'd go back to my old ways and then give up. So this is my new plan..
I'm still going to try new things, but I've created this journal to keep me on track. Hopefully, it will make me accountable for making good choices every day. I know I always find reading other journals helpful. And maybe someone will feel that way about mine.
